Words of Wisdom
Types of Yoga
Svaroopa Yoga: In this practice traditional poses are done in a different manner to emphasize the opening of the spine. Precise angles and adjustments are used, as well as soft blankets and other props. By releasing core tension from the muscles around the spine, you will find it easier to develop your inner conscious. Likewise, by creating an inner experience you will find that this yoga is more than precise poses. It promotes physical and mental healing and transformation. This inner experience was given the name “svaroopa” by Patanjali in the Yoga Sutra. Svaroopa Yoga was created by Rama Berch, founder and director of the Master Yoga Academy, and also known for her work at Dr. Deepak Chopra’s center for Well Being.
