75 minute Master Class w/Ashley Gardner

Did you miss our Summer Surfset classes? Well here’s your chance to experience SUP (stand up paddle) fitness and yoga on land this Fall. This 75 min class will take you through some official Surfset Fitness moves, as well as yoga poses while standing on the RipSurfer X (as seen on the hit show Shark Tank!) Big thanks to those who came out to our Fall Equinox Yoga Mala. We were able to raise $105 for Samaritan’s Purse to benefit victims of the Hurricanes. The Twisted Monkey will match your donations.

Friday Happy Hour classes are back at 5:30pm. Minimum cash donation of $5 will also go to Samaritan’s Purse for the month of October. However, on 10/27, we will hold a special fundraiser class to benefit Upper Moreland Girls Basketball. Special guest instructor, Ashley Gardner, is asking for your support to help raise money for their out of pocket costs. Thank you so much!

Saturday classes are back this month with a new line-up…SPRY Yoga at 10am and a new Warm Flow class at 11:30am! Bi-monthly AcroYoga classes are also back. Dates through December are posted on our website.

Hot Yoga classes are going strong.  If you haven’t had a chance to check out the new floors AND the new mural, join us for our new 5:30pm Hot Flow classes, Mon-Thurs. Reminder that 7pm classes now begin at 7:15pm. Hot Yoga is cash only and separate from our Main Studio, though you can now find class descriptions and times on our app. If you haven’t downloaded our Glofox app and created a profile yet, make sure you do soon so you may receive alerts and be added to our mailing list!

It’s National Yoga Month and we have TONS in store for you! Reminder, we will be closed on Monday, 9/4 only. Wishing you all a Happy Holiday and great year to all those heading back-to-school. SPRY = Stability Plus Resistance Yoga.

With (or without) the use of weights, the essence of SPRY is the weaving of movements together in a unique way, like a dance, encouraging new awareness, long lines, stability and cardio. The workout was created to satisfy all levels of yoga and fitness, and can also be fulfilled without the 5 lb. weight.

Yin is the latest Yoga buzz word, but do you really know what it is and why it’s so important to a well-balanced practice? Puppy Yoga!

Yes…you read that right – Puppy Yoga is coming to The Twisted Monkey! Join us on Saturday, Sept. 16th for a one hour Gentle Flow class led by Stephanie, along with some new furry friends. Proceeds will benefit a local no-kill, non-profit rescue, The Pooch Kaboose. Fall in love with one of the pups and you can take them home that same day!

Yoga Mala to Welcome Autumn

It’s that time again! Join us in celebrating the official start of a new season and kicking off the new Fall Schedule with a traditional Yoga Mala. We will attempt (and succeed!) in saluting the season with 108 Sun Salutations, led by a few of our favorite instructors. If you’ve never participated in a Mala, don’t miss out on the fun! (Approximately 90 minutes, but stay as long as you can.)

We are so excited to bring you a new and improved schedule beginning the last week of September. Look for a few changes and a couple of new additions. As always, our Glofox scheduling platform will have the most current information and our Facebook page posts daily updates. Here’s a sneak peek of what’s to come…

Fridays: Our final Happy Hour of the Summer is on Sept. 1st. Happy Hour will break for a few weeks and be back at the end of the month with a new time of 5:30pm, taught in rotation by a few of our recent teacher training graduates. Cost is still $5 cash only, which will be donated to victims of Hurricane Harvey through Thanksgiving. Also coming to Fridays – Warm Flow at 9:30 am beginning 9/29.

Saturdays: Sat. morning classes are back with a new line-up! SPRY Yoga at 10am and a new Warm Flow class at 11:30am. Bi-weekly AcroYoga classes will also be added to Saturdays at 1pm. All this starts in October! 

Sundays: Our PiYo class is making a switch from Sunday mornings to Thursdays at 5:30pm! Our Sunday beginner class will remain and a prenatal yoga 6 week session will follow at 11:30am in October. Our Sunday evening restorative vinyasa class has been swapped out for a Warm Flow at 7pm starting Oct. 1st!

Mondays: Morning Warm Flow is making a comeback at 9:30am beginning 9/25! Our Mat Pilates will be moving up a bit to 5:30pm. Our 7pm and 8:30pm classes will remain.

Tuesdays: Our only change will be the beginner class moving up a bit to 5:30pm beginning 9/26.

Wednesdays: Quite a few changes mid-week! We are excited to now offer Chair Yoga at 10:30am beginning 9/27. Warm Power-Hatha at 5:30pm. All Levels Vinyasa Flow at 7pm and a Reiki-Restorative at 8:30pm. A little something for everyone on Wednesdays!

Thursdays: Our Gentle Flow class will be cancelled…last class will take place on 9/7. PiYo will take its place at 5:30pm. If you haven’t give it a try, don’t miss out on this fun fusion of Pilates, Yoga and cardio. Great workout! All other classes will remain the same, only will be adding a little heat to the 8:30pm class for a Warm Flow.

Hot Yoga: We are beyond ecstatic to announce that we are preparing to rip out the carpets in the downstairs studio and lay down a new hardwood floor…all to bring you some fun, new Hot Yoga Classes! They will take place at 5:30pm, Mon-Thurs. Our 7pm Hot Yoga classes will be moving a little to 7:15 pm to accommodate. All classes will be 1 hour and still $10 cash only, separate from the Main Level Studio. Class descriptions and instructors will be announced soon!

We hope you are as happy as we are with the changes! By offering a more consistent and uniformed schedule, we think it well help create a better flow both in the lobby and the studio rooms, as well as with parking. ~New Classes: We have now added a Sunday evening Vinyasa-Restorative Class to our Main Studio Schedule! Enjoy a strong Vinyasa practice and balance it out with some restorative poses to finish. A nice end to your weekend. (Please note: Hot Yoga on Sundays has been cancelled for Summer.) We now also have a new non-heated Wednesday Hatha class at 5:15pm.

~Happy Hour Yoga: Reminder that some of The Twisted Monkey’s finest are taking turns teaching our new Friday Happy Hour class at 6pm – just $5 (cash only at the door, no registration required.) Great way to sample all of our great instructors at half the price!

Summer Schedule Changes

~Father’s DayHot Yoga class at 5:30pm will be cancelled Father’s Day Sunday, 6/18, but we will still have morning classes as scheduled.

~Summer Solstice Celebration: We will be celebrating the first day of Summer with a special Warm Yoga Mala on Wednesday, June 21st, 6pm. Cost is $10. Proceeds will benefit Transformation Yoga Project. (The Mala will take the place of our warm classes on this day. We apologize for any inconvenience, but hope you can join us!)

~Tuesday Morning Classes: Our Warm Yin at 9:15am and Warm Vinyasa at 10:30am will be merging into one amazing 75 minute class – YinYasa with Justine will begin on June 20th, 10:15-11:30am! Get a good Vinyasa Flow in (approx 45 min) and follow it up with (approx 30 min) of Yin Yoga for a nice balanced and complete practice.

~Prenatal Yoga: Extended through June! $12 drop-in. Last class will take place on Sat., June 24th. Prenatal will be back in the Fall!

~Saturday Class: Our Intro to Hatha class will be cancelled for Summer.  Last class will take place on June 17th. We apologize for the inconvenience and hope you can join us for some of our other classes.  We will be adding to the Saturday Schedule again in the Fall.

~PiYo Live: PiYo has now been permanently added to our regular schedule on Sundays at 11:30am. Credits, vouchers and drop-ins are now all accepted. If you haven’t tried it yet, now is the time. PiYo is a fun workout!

~Candlelight Community Yoga: Our Instructors-in-Training really appreciate all of the support you have given them. In May we were able to raise $260 to benefit Transformation Yoga Project! Our final community class will take place on June 16th, but we won’t leaving you hanging on Fridays. Join us for Happy Hour Yoga this Summer, beginning June 23rd.

~We will be closed on the 4th of July (Tues.) in honor of Independence Day.

  • A BIG THANK YOU to all who attended our Mother’s Day Yoga class last month and donated to The Living Beyond Breast Cancer Reach & Raise event. Special thanks to our guest instructor, Kate Garza, for leading our donation class. We managed to raise $160 that day. In total The Twisted Monkey team raised $1,035 for the cause! Hope you can join us next year.

We will flow to Led Zeppelin’s Physical Graffiti album, wearing glow-in-the-dark body paint in a black out room, acknowledging the beauty in individualism while connecting us as a group. We are going to let our light shine through, and embody what Namaste truly means “the light within me honors the light within you.” This is going to be a fun and beautiful workshop that all can enjoy.

SPECIAL MOTHER’S DAY YOGA CLASS and EVENT!

Bring your mom (or mom-in-law) for a special Mother’s Day all levels donation class with guest instructor Kate Garza. Proceeds will benefit Living Beyond Breast Cancer. Goodies will be provided, as well as a special raffle! We will also provide info for those interested in joining our studio team for the big Reach & Raise yoga on the art museum steps event this month. All are welcomed.

Schedule changes
We will be adjusting our schedule slightly for the Summer season beginning mid-June. Changes will be reflected on our website later this month. Please note that some Spring classes end this month…

~Prenatal Yoga: Final class is on May 27th. Prenatal will be back in the Fall!

~Kids’ Yoga: Spring session has ended. We are hoping to add a Summer session. Stay tuned for details.
~AcroYoga: There are only 2 classes left: May 7th and May 21st…book your spots now!

~PiYo Live: Our 5 week series is currently underway. During the month of May you may drop-in for $10 (credits may NOT be used.) In June, PiYo will be permanently added to our schedule as a regular class and credits will be accepted. Thank you for your cooperation.

~Candlelight Community Yoga: Our Instructors-in-Training really appreciate all of the support you have given them. In April we were able to raise $210 to benefit Transformation Yoga Project! Classes will continue in May as our trainees switch from a beginner’s sequence to their very own Mixed Levels class. Our final community class will take place on June 9th. Thank you again for all of you support and feedback!

New Class Alert!
Join us for Warm G’nite Flow every Monday night at 8:30 pm, beginning May 8th!
This will be a restorative vinyasa flow designed to give you a good night’s rest while detoxing and sweating lightly in a comfy 85-90 degrees.

However, we have been getting some complaints from our neighbors who have found cars blocking their private driveways. Please arrive a little early so you may find street parking. Meditation with Mantras and Mudras
Let’ s celebrate Earth Day with a special meditation 101 workshop with Sarah McIntyre. We’ll talk about how we use our hands to create and channel the energy (prana) in our bodies and how we can use sound in healing ways. We will then practice meditating with mudras and mantras. (Approx. 90 min. workshop.)

Join AcroYoga instructor Kimmy Kash for a super fun day of flying with your little ones! Kids are naturals at Acro which is why they love doing it…especially with YOU! Join your child as you engage in play, imagination, fitness, therapeutics and all the giggles! No experience necessary. Class will be taught in a fun, skilled, safe & empowering manner.   • PiYo class: Our next 5 week series of PiYo begins on Sunday, April 23rd. Learn “Round 38” of this unique fusion of Pilates moves and Yoga poses which will help you get Summer ready in no time. (Drop-in spots will open in May, if available.) For more info and to register, please visit our Glofox scheduling platform under “Courses.” Those who sign up for all 5 classes get a special price of just $9 per class!
  • Kids’ Yoga: Our Kid’s Yoga classes (ages 5-10 yrs) are still going strong every Thursday at 4:45pm for only $6. Classes will end on May 25th.      
  • Prenatal Yoga: We are now offering prenatal yoga on Saturdays at 10am for the month of April and May for $12 per class.
  • Candlelight Community Yoga: Our Instructors-in-Training have been taking turns practicing all they are learning. Show your support on Fridays at 5:45pm…just $5 cash only at the door. Proceeds will benefit Transformation Yoga Project!
  • Acro Sunday Funday: Our bi-weekly partner yoga classes are going strong. Final Spring dates: 4/9, 4/23, 5/7 and 5/21. AcroYoga will be taking a break for Summer.
