  • Happy November! During this time of extra gratitude, we would like to thank you for all of your support and dedication. We will continue making improvements and renovations to the studio during this holiday season. We apologize in advance for any dust or inconvenience. Thank you for your understanding. Our schedule this month will run as usual, but we will be closed on Thanksgiving Day. We have a few new classes starting this month. Don’t forget to check out our Fall Class Schedule and Workshops & Events page for all the latest. Here’s a sneak peak of what’s to come….
  • Non-Heated Yoga Class Card Sale! Purchase your 10-class cards for $70 while supplies last!  As we gear up for a new check-in process in the New Year, we will be selling class cards in November and December until we run out! These cards will not be available for purchase in 2016, though we will continue accepting them for attendance until the end of next year. Also available….5-class cards for $40. (Brand new students will still be able to purchase 5 classes for $25. Must be purchased by student him/herself on first visit.) Take final advantage of our low prices by purchasing an unlimited number of class cards. They make great holiday gifts!
  • Yoga in Bottle – Yoga with a Twist! – Final week to register! Join us this Saturday, Nov. 7th 5:30-7:30pm, for an hour of Gentle Yoga, 5 wine tastings, light snacks and lots of fun. If you haven’t checked out our most popular event yet (where have you been?) …don’t miss out! There won’t be another until Spring 2016! Please visit our Workshops & Events page for info and to sign-up. Registration closes on Friday morning.
  • Kettle Intensity! Our first Kettle Yoga session was a success! We will be bringing it back in 2016. If you’d like to try a Kettle Bell conditioning class, we now offer Kettle Intensity with Kimmy on Sundays at 8:30am. Drop-ins are $10 and yoga class cards may be used! This class is a great compliment to your yoga practice for improved strength and toning. See our Class Schedule for details.
  • Pre/Post Natal Yoga is back! Our 6 week session will run Wednesdays at 5:45pm, Nov. 11th – Dec.16th. You must pre-register by Nov. 6th to ensure a spot and receive our special discounted price…6 classes for $65! Infants not yet crawling or walking are welcomed at no charge. If you would like to attend a single class, please email us at least 24 hours in advance to see if a spot is available. Drop-in rate is $15.  For details and sign-ups please visit our Workshops & Events page.
  • Surfset with Ashley. We are running our final 3 week session of the year on Wednesdays at 9:30am, Nov. 18th-Dec. 2nd. Improve your balance, torch calories, build lean muscle, strengthen your core, and enhance your yoga practice, while standing on The RipSurfer X board…made famous on the hit TV show Shark Tank! Due to the limited number of boards, pre-registration is required. Cost is $40. For details and sign-ups please visit our Workshops & Events page. If you’d like to sample a class as a drop-in, please email us at least 24 hours in advance to see if a spot is available. Drop-in rate is $15.
  • Fall Schedule!  Just a reminder that we now offer an early morning (non-heated) yoga class on Tuesdays at 6:30am and Thursday evening classes at 5:45pm and 7pm. See our Class Schedule for details.

Yoga is about clearing away whatever is in us that prevents our living in the most full and whole way. With yoga, we become aware of how and where we are restricted — in body, mind, and heart — and how gradually to open and release these blockages. As these blockages are cleared, our energy is freed. We start to feel more harmonious, more at one with ourselves. Our lives begin to flow — or we begin to flow more in our lives.

  • Hard to believe September is here! There is lots going on at The Twisted Monkey this month. Make sure to check out our Fall Class Schedule and Workshops & Events page for all the latest. Here’s a sneak peak of what’s to come….
  • Yoga in the Park with Kimmy on Wednesdays at Rockledge Park has a new time of 6:30am beginning Sept. 2nd. Join us for an early morning practice and get your day off to a perfect start. Classes will continue in the Fall as long as weather permits. See our Workshops & Events page for more details.
  • Lunar Yoga in the Park – Sunday, September 27th at 6:30pm at Rocklege Park. (Enter at Robbins Ave and Rockledge Ave intersection.) For those of you that made it out to our Blue Moon Yoga in the Park in July, you know what a special and rare experience it is. Well, the month of September brings us a Total Lunar Eclipse! This is the second and last one for the year, and the final of a 4 total lunar eclipse series. Help us welcome this phenomenon with a magical night of yoga under the stars. The class will include 75 minutes of lunar yoga, meditation, and a traditional smudge blessing. Bring your mat, some water and an open heart. $20 per adult.
  • Kettle Yoga with Kimmy – 6 week series! Ready to take it up a notch? Join us on Wednesdays at 5:45pm from Sept. 23rd – Oct.28th for this new and unique 60 min yoga practice which incorporates Kettlebells for extra strength training and toning. We’ll start with conditioning and learn proper technique for handling Kettlebells of varying weights for an intense and invigorating practice. Due to the limited number of Kettle Bells, you must pre-register for this class. Please visit our Workshops & Events page for info and registration.
  • Surfset Yoga & Fitness with Ashley – 3 weeks sessions of surf-inspired SUP yoga and fitness classes are here! Improve your balance, strengthen your core and your practice, build lean muscle and burn up to 900 calories in one hour!  Due to the limited number of boards, pre-registration is required.   • Tai Chi class with Shihan Lynn Montana is coming to Fridays at 7pm beginning Sept. 11th. Cost is $10 (cash only). Class cards may not be used. Please see our Class Schedule for more details. Her Reiki Healing Circle will be back on the 11th as well with a new time of 8pm. This class is donation-based with a suggestion of $5-$10.
  • 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training. We are now accepting applications for our next training session. Sign up before Nov. 1st and receive a $200 early bird discount! Training begins Dec. 6th. Whether you are looking to deepen your practice or start a new career, The Twisted Monkey Yoga Alliance approved program will give you the confidence and inspiration you need.   • It’s the last full of month of Summer! Just a reminder that our schedule will be changing after Labor Day. See our website for class changes and cancellations.
  • Thank you to all who came out to our first Blue Moon Yoga night. The night was more successful than we could have imagined! Proceeds of the night will go toward a memorial fund in honor of the instructor’s brother who recently passed away. Thank you again for your support and look out for more evenings in the park in the future!
  • Yoga in the Park with Kimmy – Wednesdays at 7am, starting August 5th at Rockledge Park (Enter at Robbins Ave and Rockledge Ave intersection). Come get an early morning workout in at the park and a sneak peak at the newest class coming to The Twisted Monkey this Fall! Kettle Yoga incorporates Kettle Bells into our yoga practice, creating a fusion that will help you develop extra strength and toning. The class will be 75 minutes long and will run every Wednesday until and when weather permits. This is a BYOB (Bring your own Bell…or weights) class. If you do not own either, you are still welcomed to come check it out and enjoy a yoga practice. This is a donation-based class, meaning pay what you can with a suggestion of $10 and a minimum of $5. Your contributions will help purchase new Kettle Bells for our studio so we can bring you indoor Kettle Yoga this Fall/Winter!
  • Surfset Yoga & Fitness with Ashley –This Fall we will be offering 3 week sessions of surf-inspired, SUP yoga and fitness classes. Improve your balance, strengthen your core and your practice, build lean muscle and burn up to 900 calories in one hour!  Due to the limited number of boards, pre-registration is required. If you are interested in getting certified as a Surfset Fitness Trainer, we will be hosting a training workshop at The Twisted Monkey on Sunday, August 30th, 11am-7pm. We are springing into Summer! Lots going on….

  • Last chance to sign-up! Intro to Intermediate & Advanced Poses Workshop with our lovely core queen, Julia. Saturday, June 6th, 1-3pm. This two hour workshop is designed for yogis looking to take their practice to the next level. With Julia’s encouragement and instruction, you will learn to use your core strength to help easily guide you into poses you may have thought impossible. From balancing on your hands or even your head, there’s something for curious yogis of all levels. Cost is $20. To register now: Click Here. You may also sign-up and pay at the studio by this Thursday.
  • Just a reminder that our Friday $5 Hatha Happy Hour runs through June. Squeeze in another hour of practice before the weekend and end your week right. You will also be supporting our new group of instructors in training. And did we mention, classes are only $5?!?! All ages and levels welcomed. (Please note class cards are not accepted as you will get even better savings!) If you prefer to sweat it out, don’t forget we now also offer Hot Happy Hour at the same time. (Regular cost of $10 and class cards accepted.)
  • Our Pilates 6 week session with Rose ends on June 7th. We will be offering a “make-up day” on Sunday, June 14th. Pilates will then be moving to Thursdays at 5:30pm beginning June 25th. Cost is $10 for drop-ins or a class card may be purchased. Yoga class cards can be used once for those who want to give this core-strengthening workout a try!
  • FYI….our Wednesday Vinyasa Flow class ends on June 10th! Please see our class schedule for changes.
  • Donation-Based Reiki Healing Circle with Shihan (Reiki Master) Lynn Montana – Coming to Fridays at 6:30pm starting June 12th. The Twisted Monkey is happy to offer you the opportunity to experience the empowerment of Reiki through a brief hands-on session. Reiki can often be felt as warm energy, vibration, a cool breeze, or just a relaxing feeling.  It soothes and calms, giving us the opportunity to tune into our higher energies and provide them the time, attention and energy needed to heal. If you have never experienced Reiki but always wanted to, this is the perfect opportunity for you to do so. All Reiki practitioners and master teachers are encouraged to join us in the healing circle to both give and receive. Attendance is free; we thank you in advance for any donations received. For those interested in first, second or third degree Reiki training, please attend our first Healing Circle on June 12th for more information. Workshops will be available in June, July and August.
  • Surfset Yoga & Fitness with Ashley 6 week session starts June 17th, Wednesdays at 7pm! Sign-ups and special introductory price have been extended to this Thursday. Improve your balance, strengthen your core and your practice, build lean muscle and burn up to 900 calories in one hour!  Due to the limited number of boards, you must pre-register for this class. As a specialty class, prices average $15 per session at most studios and gyms. We are offering a special rate of 6 weeks at $60. Price will go up so sign up now!   • Power-Vinyasa (non-heated) with Alyssa coming to Mondays at 7pm. Classes start on June 22nd!
  • $5 Pranayama Practice with Justine – Thursdays from 6:45pm-7:15pm beginning June 25th! Through this 30 minute class we will reset, unwind and regulate our intake of Prana, or Vital Life Force. Discover or rediscover useful breathing techniques to aid you in stress management, anxiety, depressed mood, sleeplessness, physical performance, relaxation, restlessness, fatigue, meditation, and of course Yoga, to name a few applications. We will do very light Asana (postures) in some instances so bring your water and yoga mat- blanket or bolster optional. Stay and take Justine’s Sunset Vinyasa class at 7:30pm and you’ll be sure to notice a big improvement in your yoga practice!
  • Due to permit restrictions and limited instructor availability, we regret to announce that we will not be offering Yoga in the Park this Summer. However, we are working on an outdoor alternative and will make an announcement as soon as we have more information. Thanks for your understanding and patience.

Sneak peak into July….

  • We are happy to announce an additional 6 week session of Prenatal and Postnatal Yoga from July 7th – August 11th on Tuesdays at 5:45pm. Cost is only $50! Must pre-register by June 20th.   • Have you signed up for our April workshops yet? First, find out what all the SUP (stand-up paddle board) Yoga fuss is all about at our Surfset Fitness Workshop with Ashley. You will have the opportunity to test out The Rip Surfer X, the original Indoor Board for yoga as featured on the hit show Shark Tank. Saturday, April 11th,1pm-3pm. Cost is $15 per person.   • NEW CLASSES COMING THIS SPRING:
  1. By popular demand: The Twisted Monkey will bring you an EXTRA NIGHT of HOT YOGA! Join us Fridays at 5:30pm for an hour of Power-Vinyasa! Classes begin on April 24th and will run through June with the possibility of a permanent spot on the schedule. Get your sweat on to end the work week right.
  2. Also coming to Fridays at 5:30pm – $5 Happy Hour Yoga! Beginning May 1st and through June, join us for a 9 week mixed levels community class of non-heated yoga. Not only will you be ending your week right and squeezing in another hour of practice before the weekend, but you will be supporting our new group of instructors in training. And did we mention, classes are only $5??? All ages and levels welcomed.
  3. Coming back this May….Mommy-to-Be/Mommy-N-Me! Join us for a 6 week session of Prenatal and Postnatal yoga on Wednesdays at 11am starting on May 20th. Mamas with children ages 0 – 3 years are welcomed! Cost is only $45 for the 6 weeks. Please contact us for more details as you will have to pre-register for this session. twistedmonkeyyoga@gmail.com
  4. Save the date for our May Workshop: Yoga for Cyclists & Runners with our very own instructor, Justine! Saturday, May 9th, 1pm-3pm. Cost is $15. More info and registration coming soon.
  • Our Pilates 12 week session ends this month. There will be no class on Easter Sunday, therefore extending our session to April 26th. Only a few Sundays left to try out 45 minutes of core strengthening and toning exercises with our Pilates princess – Rose at 9am. Class cost is $8 per person, drop-in rate only. Sorry, we do not accept vouchers or yoga punch cards for this class. Follow it up with our Intro to Yoga class at 10am….perfect compliment to Pilates. We are planning a second Pilates session for May and June. Details coming soon!
  • A big congratulations to our first group of yoga teacher trainees for completing the program! Thank you for all of your hard work and dedication. Thank you also to all of our members who supported them during their student teaching. We are currently in our our second training session and making plans for our third. This Summer we will be offering a special accelerated Teacher Training Program. If you are interested, please email us for more information. This program will only be available to select members of our studio at a discounted price. Training will begin the last week of June and go through October. Our regular Teacher Training will resume next Winter, December 2015 through June 2016. Details will be published on our website soon.
