SPRY = Stability Plus Resistance Yoga.
With (or without) the use of weights, the essence of SPRY is the weaving of movements together in a unique way, like a dance, encouraging new awareness, long lines, stability and cardio. The workout was created to satisfy all levels of yoga and fitness, and can also be fulfilled without the 5 lb. weight.

Yin Yoga Workshop w/Justine Bacon
Yin is the latest Yoga buzz word, but do you really know what it is and why it’s so important to a well-balanced practice? Join us in this 2 hour workshop, where we will spend a brief period discussing the practice of Yin, its principles and benefits…and then dive right in! This is a very complimentary practice to anyone with an active lifestyle…so join us!

Yes…you read that right – Puppy Yoga is coming to The Twisted Monkey! Join us on Saturday, Sept. 16th for a one hour Gentle Flow class led by Stephanie, along with some new furry friends. Proceeds will benefit a local no-kill, non-profit rescue, The Pooch Kaboose. Fall in love with one of the pups and you can take them home that same day!

Yoga Mala to Welcome Autumn
It’s that time again! Join us in celebrating the official start of a new season and kicking off the new Fall Schedule with a traditional Yoga Mala. We will attempt (and succeed!) in saluting the season with 108 Sun Salutations, led by a few of our favorite instructors. If you’ve never participated in a Mala, don’t miss out on the fun! (Approximately 90 minutes, but stay as long as you can.)

We are so excited to bring you a new and improved schedule beginning the last week of September. Look for a few changes and a couple of new additions. As always, our Glofox scheduling platform will have the most current information and our Facebook page posts daily updates. Here’s a sneak peek of what’s to come…
Fridays: Our final Happy Hour of the Summer is on Sept. 1st. Happy Hour will break for a few weeks and be back at the end of the month with a new time of 5:30pm, taught in rotation by a few of our recent teacher training graduates. Cost is still $5 cash only, which will be donated to victims of Hurricane Harvey through Thanksgiving. Also coming to Fridays – Warm Flow at 9:30 am beginning 9/29.
Saturdays: Sat. morning classes are back with a new line-up! SPRY Yoga at 10am and a new Warm Flow class at 11:30am. Bi-weekly AcroYoga classes will also be added to Saturdays at 1pm. All this starts in October!
Sundays: Our PiYo class is making a switch from Sunday mornings to Thursdays at 5:30pm! Our Sunday beginner class will remain and a prenatal yoga 6 week session will follow at 11:30am in October. Our Sunday evening restorative vinyasa class has been swapped out for a Warm Flow at 7pm starting Oct. 1st!
Mondays: Morning Warm Flow is making a comeback at 9:30am beginning 9/25! Our Mat Pilates will be moving up a bit to 5:30pm. Our 7pm and 8:30pm classes will remain.
Tuesdays: Our only change will be the beginner class moving up a bit to 5:30pm beginning 9/26.
Wednesdays: Quite a few changes mid-week! We are excited to now offer Chair Yoga at 10:30am beginning 9/27. Warm Power-Hatha at 5:30pm. All Levels Vinyasa Flow at 7pm and a Reiki-Restorative at 8:30pm. A little something for everyone on Wednesdays!
Thursdays: Our Gentle Flow class will be cancelled…last class will take place on 9/7. PiYo will take its place at 5:30pm. If you haven’t give it a try, don’t miss out on this fun fusion of Pilates, Yoga and cardio. Great workout! All other classes will remain the same, only will be adding a little heat to the 8:30pm class for a Warm Flow.
Hot Yoga: We are beyond ecstatic to announce that we are preparing to rip out the carpets in the downstairs studio and lay down a new hardwood floor…all to bring you some fun, new Hot Yoga Classes! They will take place at 5:30pm, Mon-Thurs. Our 7pm Hot Yoga classes will be moving a little to 7:15 pm to accommodate. All classes will be 1 hour and still $10 cash only, separate from the Main Level Studio. Class descriptions and instructors will be announced soon!
We hope you are as happy as we are with the changes! By offering a more consistent and uniformed schedule, we think it well help create a better flow both in the lobby and the studio rooms, as well as with parking. ~Special September Hours: In addition to being closed on Labor Day, we will be cancelling our Hot Yoga (only) classes the weekend of Saturday, Sept. 16th and Sunday, Sept. 17th as we will be renovating the downstairs studio. Thank you for your understanding.
~Attention Yoga Instructors: Are you interested in teaching trauma sensitive Yoga and Mindfulness to people seeking recovery from addiction? The Transformation Yoga Project will be offering a 2 day workshop at The Twisted Monkey, Sept. 23-24th, 2017. For more info and to register, please visit the TYP website.
~Work Study: Would you or someone you know be interested in working at The Twisted Monkey in exchange for free yoga classes? Email Daniella for more info at TwistedMonkeyYoga@gmail.com. We are looking for adults 18 and older who could commit to 3 shifts a week on weeknights (5:15pm-8:45pm) and/or weekend mornings (9:30am-1pm).
~Lost and Found: It’s that time again…if you left behind a water bottle, yoga mat or other personal item, please check with the studio asap. Unclaimed items will be recycled or donated this week.
