HAPPY DECEMBER!

The holiday season is upon and we would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a blessed one, surrounded by family and loved ones. Reminder that we will be  CLOSED on Christmas Eve and Day (12/24 and 12/25), as well as New Year’s Eve and Day (12/31 and 1/1.) Classes (and resolutions) will resume on Jan. 2nd of 2018!

For now, let’s have some fun as we end 2017 with love, light and positivity…

108 Sun Salutations!

It’s that time again – Join us in celebrating the official start of Winter with a Warm Yoga Mala! We will attempt (and succeed!) in completing 108 Sun Salutations to welcome the season. If you’ve never participated in a Mala, don’t miss out on the fun! (Approx. 90 min., but stay as long as you can and do what you can…The fun is in trying!) The mala will take the place of our Sat. Warm Flow class this day but temp. will still be set to 85 degrees.

Summer Schedule Changes

~Father’s DayHot Yoga class at 5:30pm will be cancelled Father’s Day Sunday, 6/18, but we will still have morning classes as scheduled.

~Summer Solstice Celebration: We will be celebrating the first day of Summer with a special Warm Yoga Mala on Wednesday, June 21st, 6pm. Cost is $10. Proceeds will benefit Transformation Yoga Project. (The Mala will take the place of our warm classes on this day. We apologize for any inconvenience, but hope you can join us!)

~Tuesday Morning Classes: Our Warm Yin at 9:15am and Warm Vinyasa at 10:30am will be merging into one amazing 75 minute class – YinYasa with Justine will begin on June 20th, 10:15-11:30am! Get a good Vinyasa Flow in (approx 45 min) and follow it up with (approx 30 min) of Yin Yoga for a nice balanced and complete practice.

~Prenatal Yoga: Extended through June! $12 drop-in. Last class will take place on Sat., June 24th. Prenatal will be back in the Fall!

~Saturday Class: Our Intro to Hatha class will be cancelled for Summer.  Last class will take place on June 17th. We apologize for the inconvenience and hope you can join us for some of our other classes.  We will be adding to the Saturday Schedule again in the Fall.

~PiYo Live: PiYo has now been permanently added to our regular schedule on Sundays at 11:30am. Credits, vouchers and drop-ins are now all accepted. If you haven’t tried it yet, now is the time. PiYo is a fun workout!

~Candlelight Community Yoga: Our Instructors-in-Training really appreciate all of the support you have given them. In May we were able to raise $260 to benefit Transformation Yoga Project! Our final community class will take place on June 16th, but we won’t leaving you hanging on Fridays. Join us for Happy Hour Yoga this Summer, beginning June 23rd.

~We will be closed on the 4th of July (Tues.) in honor of Independence Day.

  • A BIG THANK YOU to all who attended our Mother’s Day Yoga class last month and donated to The Living Beyond Breast Cancer Reach & Raise event. Special thanks to our guest instructor, Kate Garza, for leading our donation class. We managed to raise $160 that day. In total The Twisted Monkey team raised $1,035 for the cause! Hope you can join us next year.
  • Renovations: This Summer we will be making some small renovations to the Main Studio and lobby as we continue to strive to make a comfy “home away from home” for all of you. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience due to dust, schedule changes or noise. Thank you for your support, patience and understanding.

Have you heard? 

  • PiYo class: Our 5 week series of PiYo just ended. However, Sunday class will continue and is now open to all members to use Glofox credits or a $10 drop-in for the next few weeks only. This fusion of Pilates moves and Yoga poses will help you gain strength and flexibility while toning and sculpting! Check out PiYo before committing to our next 5 week series.
  • Kids’ Yoga: Don’t forget that we now offer a weekly class for kids ages 5-10 on Thursdays at 4:45pm. Only $6 per child when you pre-book through our Glofox app or online scheduling platform. Yoga is quickly becoming a great way to keep our youth healthy, flexible and active. It’s never too early (or late!) to start yoga.    
  • Pre/PostNatal Yoga: Our 6 week series is coming to an end, but look out for our Spring session in April/May to be announced soon!
  • New Hot Yoga Class: Don’t forget that we now offer Hot Yoga on Sundays at 5:30pm with our newest instructor, Nina! Please note that Hot Yoga classes are separate from our Main Studio. $10 cash only.
  • Candlelight Community Yoga: Our Instructors-in-Training begin their student teaching this month! Show your support on Fridays at 5:45pm…just $5!
  • Acro Sunday Funday: Our bi-weekly partner yoga classes are going strong. Next one is on Sunday 3/12 and then again on Sunday 3/26. Don’t forget to pre-book on the app! Our 1st Family Acro class was a huge hit…look out for another in April!

  • Studio Yoga Mats: As we continue to make improvements to our studio, we would like to clarify that yoga mats are for the use of brand new members on their first visit. We ask that all students who try a class and plan to continue the practice of yoga, to invest in their own mat. This way you may choose the correct length, size and density to suit your individual needs. The downstairs Hot Yoga studio provides black yoga mats that are already placed down on the floor. You may place your own yoga mat on top for extra support. We ask that you please wipe down all mats after use. Do not roll up any studio mats that may still be wet, as this can become unsanitary. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
  • Lost and Found: If you have left behind a water bottle, yoga mat or other personal item, please make sure to check the yoga studio. Items not claimed by the end of each month will be recycled. There is a lost and found located in the hot yoga ladies’ changing room, as well as a cubby in the Main Studio or see an instructor. Thank you.

  • Happy November! There’s a chill in the air and the smell of pumpkin….holiday season is here! Note that we will be closed on THANKSGIVING THURSDAY only in November. However, please check out our Website for a few schedule changes: Click Here. This month we are also finally launching our online registration and class packages that can even be purchased from your phone!   (Please note that we will continue accepting previously purchased class cards.)
  • This month is also yoga retreat time for The Twisted Monkey. We are so excited for this new phase in our yoga journey. For those of you who are not able to join us for the weekend at The Himalayan Institute, stay tuned for next year’s plans. In the meantime, we have a few fun activities lined up for you this month….
  1. Full Moon Yoga! Our November Full Moon Yoga class will take place on Monday, Nov. 14th at the studio at 7:30pm with Sarah. (Please note that this class will take place instead of our regularly scheduled Mon class at 7:15pm.) Class is open to all levels and will include a lunar meditation. Cost is $10 cash only, as proceeds will benefit Matter of Trust.) Come experience the powerful energy of lunar yoga! Please visit the Full Moon Yoga schedule on our Website for details.
  2. Restorative Yoga & Massage Workshop! Join us on Friday,  Nov. 18th at 7:30pm as we bring our yoga practice to a more meditative and deeper awareness. You will also receive gentle adjustments and massage by Yoga Instructor and Massage Therapist, Devin. Allow your mind and body to disconnect from the fast pace and restore, so we may start the holidays with an open heart and mind. Let’s remember the true meaning of the season.   3. FREE PiYo Demo class! Our very own Pilates instructor, Rose, is now a certified PiYo instructor. This fusion of Pilates moves and Yoga poses will help you gain strength and flexibility while toning and sculpting. Join us the Saturday after Thanksgiving to burn off those turkey and pie calories with a FREE PiYo class! Nov. 26th at 12:30pm. TO RSVP: Click Here. (You must pre-register for this class.)
  4. Yoga with a Twist! We have finally locked down a date for our Fall/Holiday edition of “Yoga in a Bottle-Yoga with a Twist!” with Daniella. Join us on Saturday, Dec. 3rd at 4:30pm for a gentle yoga flow, 5 wine tastings and light snacks. Bring a friend and save! See our Workshops & Events page to register.   
  5. Specialty Yoga classes! Fall sessions (Surfset, Tween/Kids yoga, Prenatal, etc.) of specialty yoga classes have now ended. Look out for winter sessions starting soon! However, we are offering a Level 2 Kettle Bell and Yoga series for those who have completed one of our Level 1 series. Please see our Class Schedule and scroll down to Sundays for registration.

  • Happy October! Have you checked out our current Fall Schedule! Click Here. There’s something for everyone…
  1. Morning Weekday classes? We now offer plenty! Warm Yoga, YinYasa, Vinyasa Flow, Hatha Flow and Surfset Fitness and Yoga. See our schedule for details.
  2. Long day? One more opportunity to get your practice in with our G’nite Flow. Perfect gentle flow before bedtime. Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8:30pm with Kimmy and Natalie.
  3. Lunch Time Yoga? Try our 45 min Kundalini Express at noon on Wednesdays with Jessica.
  4. Sunrise Yoga? Get your practice in before work or school on Fridays at 6am with our Morning Meditation Flow with Sarah.
  5. Half priced yoga? Support our teachers in training on Fridays and Sundays and get your yoga on for just $5!
  6. Yoga for Tweens? Yup! Fridays at 6:30pm with Brittany for ages 9-13. Just $5.

  • October Workshops! We have two this month plus a FREE Class…
  1. Kid’s Yoga Workshop with Sarah is happening on Sunday, Oct. 16th. Yoga is a great way to ensure young ones maintain flexibility. It’s also been shown to improve focus and concentration, sleep, and even athletic ability. Drop your little one(s) off, ages 5-10 yrs, for 9o minutes of yoga fun. We’ll go over poses appropriate for kids, discuss the importance of strength and flexibility, play games and even enjoy a light snack. Cost is $15 per child.   2. Surfset Fitness and Yoga with Ashley is happening on Sunday, Oct. 30th. Stand on the Rip Surfer X as seen on the hit show Shark Tank! You’ll maximize calories burned, strengthen your core and balance, create lean muscle, and prevent injury…all while having a great time! Cost is $25 per person.   • Yoga with a Twist! We know you’ve been asking….promise it’s coming soon! It’s been a little busy around the studio but a date for our Fall “Yoga with a Bottle-Yoga with a Twist” will be determined very soon, so stay tuned for details.
  • Fall Drive! Reminder that we our collecting items to benefit the Montgomery County SPCA. Look for a box in the lobby where you can place donations. Some of the items they are looking for include: towels, blankets, sheets, comforters, unopened bags of dog and cat food, canned dog and cat food, cat litter & litter boxes, etc. Our SPCA Fall drive will run through October.   • Happy August! Can it really be the last full moth of Summer already?! Hope you all enjoy the final few weeks before the rush of back-to-school and Fall activities begins. Please note that we will be closed on Monday, September 5th for Labor Day. Our Summer schedule is going strong and will run through most of Sept. Look out for some new classes (and old favorites) in our Fall Schedule starting the week of Sept. 18th! Most current schedule can be found online: Click Here. Here’s a sneak peek…
  • Yoga in the Park! Due to the hot Summer temps, yoga at Rockledge Park on Saturdays will be moving up to 9am beginning Aug. 6th. Classes will run through the rest of Summer and a final date will be announced in Sept. We are happy to share that we raised close to $300 in July for oneorlando.org! This month’s donations will benefit PAWS. Thank you to all who have supported us so far!
  • Full Moon Yoga! Our August Full Moon Yoga class will take place on Thursday, August 18th at 8:30pm at Rockledge Park. (If inclement weather, class will be held at the studio.)   • Playing with Gravity! Join us on Saturday, Aug. 27th for a 2 hour workshop with Kimmy & Rob focused on Partner PLAY!   • Class Cards! Please note that we are no longer selling the regular 5 class cards for $40. However, you may still purchase 10 classes for $80 until the end of Summer. While punch cards will no longer be sold after September, they will still be accepted until the end of the year. This Fall we will introduce new discount packages and class registration available through our website. We will still continue to accept cash payments in the studio. Thank you for your patience and support during this transition.
  • Fall Classes and 108 Yoga Malas! To kick of Autumn, join us on Thursday Sept. 22nd (the Fall Equinox!) at 7:15pm, as we once again attempt (and succeed!) to get through 108 sun salutations. After our successful Summer Solstice 108 sun salutation celebration in June, we are now happy to offer these Yoga Malas every season! More information can be found on our 108 Yoga Mala page. This event will also kick off our new Fall Schedule which will include: Surfset, Kettle Yoga, Warm Yoga, Lunch Hour Yoga, Pre/Postnatal Yoga, Kids’ Yoga, Tween Yoga, Meditation Flow, and lots more! See our schedule for more information: Click Here.
  • Save the date! Registration for The Twisted Monkey’s inaugural Yoga Retreat is now open. Spots are limited and going fast! For those who would like more information, we will be offering a Retreat Information meeting on Monday, Aug. 29th at 8:30pm. We will discuss the itinerary for the 3 day weekend and answer any questions you may have. Those already registered are encouraged to attend too. The meeting should take no more than 30 min.   • Lost and Found! If you have left behind a water bottle, yoga mat or other personal item, please make sure to check the yoga studio. Items not claimed by the end of each month will be recycled. The lost and found is located in the hot yoga ladies’ changing room or see an instructor. Thank you.

  • Happy July and Happy Independence Day! Hope you are enjoying your Summer. We will be closed on Monday, 4th of July. Enjoy your holiday! Just a reminder that our most current schedule can be found online: Click Here. Don’t forget about our special Summer classes…

  • Yoga in the Park! Join us at Rockledge Park on Saturdays at 10am all Summer long. This is a donation-based class with a $5-$10 suggested minimum cash drop-in. (Class Cards may not be used.) Street parking and entrance are on Rockledge Ave. (corner of Robbins Ave.) Stop at the gazebo to check-in. Please bring your own yoga mat and water. All Levels welcomed. This month’s donations will benefit oneorlando.org. Thank you to all who have joined us so far!

  • Surfset Fitness & Yoga! Registration for our Surfset series is now closed, but we have a few spots available for drop-ins.   • Seasonal Sun Salutes! Thank you to all who came out to our Summer Solstice, Full Moon, and International Yoga Day Celebration. It was a magical night. Congrats to all those who completed the full 108 Sun Salutations and a big THANK YOU to all those who donated to oneorlando.org. We raised almost $150! Stay tuned for the Fall Equinox as we hope to host an 108 Sun Salutation Yoga Mala for every season. Details coming soon.
  • Full Moon Yoga! We will also be hosting special Full Moon Yoga evening classes once a month. The next Full Moon is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, July 19th. Stay tuned for details on our website.
  • SAVE THE DATE! Registration for The Twisted Monkey’s inaugural Yoga Retreat opens up soon. Join us this Fall on November 18th -20th for a 3 day weekend at the Himalayan Institute, located just 2 and 1/2 hours away. Details coming soon!
