  • Happy July and Happy Independence Day! Hope you are enjoying your Summer. We will be closed on Monday, 4th of July. Enjoy your holiday! Just a reminder that our most current schedule can be found online: Click Here. Don’t forget about our special Summer classes…

  • Yoga in the Park! Join us at Rockledge Park on Saturdays at 10am all Summer long. This is a donation-based class with a $5-$10 suggested minimum cash drop-in. (Class Cards may not be used.) Street parking and entrance are on Rockledge Ave. (corner of Robbins Ave.) Stop at the gazebo to check-in. Please bring your own yoga mat and water. All Levels welcomed. This month’s donations will benefit oneorlando.org. Thank you to all who have joined us so far!

  • Surfset Fitness & Yoga! Registration for our Surfset series is now closed, but we have a few spots available for drop-ins.   • Seasonal Sun Salutes! Thank you to all who came out to our Summer Solstice, Full Moon, and International Yoga Day Celebration. It was a magical night. Congrats to all those who completed the full 108 Sun Salutations and a big THANK YOU to all those who donated to oneorlando.org. We raised almost $150! Stay tuned for the Fall Equinox as we hope to host an 108 Sun Salutation Yoga Mala for every season. Details coming soon.
  • Full Moon Yoga! We will also be hosting special Full Moon Yoga evening classes once a month. The next Full Moon is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, July 19th. Stay tuned for details on our website.
  • SAVE THE DATE! Registration for The Twisted Monkey’s inaugural Yoga Retreat opens up soon. Join us this Fall on November 18th -20th for a 3 day weekend at the Himalayan Institute, located just 2 and 1/2 hours away. Details coming soon!  
  • Lost and Found! If you have left behind a water bottle, yoga mat or other personal item, please make sure to check the yoga studio. We will be recycling any items not claimed by the end of each month. The lost and found is located in the hot yoga ladies’ changing room or see an instructor. Thank you.

  • Happy June and Happy Father’s Day to all of the loving men in our lives…thank you for all you do! As we head into Summer, we know many of you will be taking some much needed R&R time. The Twisted Monkey wants to make it easy for you to keep up with your yoga practice. Please make sure to check out the changes we’ve made to the Summer Class Schedule for the Main Level Studio. (Hot Yoga class schedule will remain the same.) Sneak peek below:
  • Schedule Changes/Cancellations. Intro to Yoga & Meditation with Sarah will be moving from Saturday mornings to Monday evenings this Summer. Kettle Fusion on Sunday, Sunrise Flow on Tuesday, and Vinyasa on Thursday mornings will all be taking a break this Summer. Warm Flow Yoga on Wednesday will be moving up to 5:30pm-6:30pm with no class on July 6th. All other classes should remain the same. See Class Schedule  for details.
  • Yoga in the Park is back! Join us at Rockledge Park on Saturdays at 10am beginning June 25th. This will be a donation-based class with a $5-$10 suggested cash drop-in. Class Cards may not be used. All Levels. Enter at Rockledge Ave. and Robbins Ave. and please bring your own yoga mat and water.

  • Surfset Fitness & Yoga! A reminder that our next Surfset Workshop will take place on Sunday, June 5th, 1-3pm. If you registered online you do not need to bring confirmation. Your name will be on the list. We have closed registration but there is still 1 spot available! If you are interested please email us at TwistedMonkeyYoga@gmail.com. If you missed this round, please stay tuned as we will be offering another workshop soon! We are also happy to offer a “5 for 4” Surfset series this Summer.   • Fundamentals & Transitioning of Vinyasa. Don’t forget to sign up for this informative Workshop with Stephanie and Corinne on Saturday, June 11th, 12pm-3pm. Take your asana practice to the next level! See our Workshops & Events page for more details.
  • Restorative Yoga & Massage. You won’t want to miss this Friday evening workshop with Devin on June 17th, 7:30pm-9:30pm. Great way to unwind, reset and be ready for Summer! See our Workshops & Events page for more details.
  • FREE Sun Salutation Class! On Monday, June 20th we will gather at 7:15pm to celebrate the Summer Solstice, the Full Moon, and International Yoga Day…so much light and energy in one evening! We will welcome the season and honor these special events by participating in as many Sun Salutations as we can get in…the ultimate goal being 108! Do what you can. Stay as long as you are able. It’s sure to be a special evening.
  • SAVE THE DATE! The Twisted Monkey is beyond excited to announce our very first Yoga Retreat! Join us this Fall on November 18th -20th for a 3 day weekend designed to help us get ready for the busy holiday season. Details and registration will be available soon!  
  • Lost and Found! If you are missing a water bottle or yoga mat, please make sure to check the yoga studio. There is a lost water bottle collection downstairs in the hot yoga ladies’ changing room. Any yoga mats or water bottles not claimed before the end of the month will be recycled. Thank you.

  • Happy  May and Happy Mother’s Day to all the beautiful goddess moms in our lives…thank you for all you do! There is so much fun stuff happening at our studio in the next month as we gear up for Summer. So please make sure to check our website often for info on all of our upcoming events. Sneak peek below:
  • FREE Pre/Post Natal Yoga Class for Mother’s Day! Join us at 11:30am on Sunday, May 8th for a free class for moms-to-be or brand new moms looking to ease back into a yoga practice. We welcome infants not yet crawling or walking at no extra charge. Happy Mother’s Day! You must RSVP for this event: Click Here. If you know anyone who may be interested, please spread the word!
  • Meditation in May! There are still some spots left for our “Managing Stress through Yoga and Meditation” workshop with Sarah on Saturday, May 14th, 11:30am-1:30pm (following her beginner’s class). See our Workshops and Events page for more info and to register.
  • Full Moon Yoga in the Park! Join us as we kick off our Yoga in the Park season with a Full Moon Yoga class at Rockledge Park – Saturday, May 21st at 8pm. You must preregister for this event. See our Workshops & Events Page for more info and to register. P.S. Yoga in the Park classes are coming to Saturday mornings this Summer. Stay tuned for details!
  • FREE Essential Oils 101 Workshop! Essential Oils are the latest craze, but did you know there are countless ways they can be used in the home and to improve your family’s health and environment? Join us to learn the most common and versatile ways we can use essential oils. You’ll get to sample some of the most popular oils and learn about the different uses and types that exist. This is a FREE event. You will have the opportunity to purchase essential oils, but there is no obligation. Space is limited.   • $5 Community Yoga – reminder that the last night of our Monday class will be on May 23rd. Come out to support our teachers in training as they get ready to present their very own yoga classes and graduate the program. See our Class Schedule for details.

  • Mommy-n-Me Yoga! This Summer we will also bring back 6 weeks of Mommy-N-Me Yoga with Jessica on Fridays at 11am. Moms (or dads!) are welcomed to join us with their little one (ages 0-5yrs) for some fun family stretch time. Cost is $70 for 6 weeks.   • Surfset Fitness with Ashley! Thanks to all who came out to our sold out Surfin’ in Spring Workshop last month. If you haven’t had the chance to stand on the Rip Surfer X board (or even if you have), we are offering another opportunity on Sunday, June 5th, 1pm-3pm. Learn about and experience this unique and fun workout as seen on the hit show Shark Tank! See our Workshops & Events Page for more info and to register. Spots are very limited so sign-up today.
  • More Workshops in June! Also coming in June, a workshop on the fundamentals of Vinyasa with Stephanie and Corinne on Saturday, June 11th and a Restorative Yoga with Massage Workshop on Friday,  June 17th with Devin. Details Coming Soon!

Supporting Community Causes…

  •  Wednesday, May 18th is the 2nd Annual Philly loves PAWS Day. Businesses and animal lovers will come together for a daylong, citywide fundraiser in support of PAWS’ lifesaving efforts. Restaurants, shops, and more will donate 10% of proceeds to bring Philadelphia closer to becoming a no-kill city. The Twisted Monkey will be making a donation in support of this event. For ways you can help and for more information, visit the Philly Loves PAWS website: http://phillylovespaws.org.
  • ASSE is looking for host families. This non-profit organization places students from all over the world with host families in the USA for semesters and school years, so that these students may immerse themselves in our culture, while learning English and improving international relations. They currently have two teenage girls from the Ukraine and Thailand who practice yoga and are in need of host families. These students are ambassadors for their respective countries and are exceptionally bright and talented youngsters.  As a non-profit, ASSE does not pay host families. There are no fees associated with this experience. The host family is just asked to provide sufficient room and board for the student and allow them to become part of the family for the duration of their stay. Students arrive with excellent health insurance coverage and use their own pocket money for any extracurricular activities or meals purchased outside of the home (with the exception of family dinners). Students are academically esteemed with excellent reputations in their home countries and expect to contribute to daily family life, including activities and chores. Also, each student and host family is assigned an Area Representative who is available for support for the duration of his/her stay. If you are interested in learning more, please visit their website: http://www.host.asse.com or contact us and we will connect you with the area representative.

  • Happy  March! Did you know that we are in the Chinese Year of the Monkey?! As we head into Spring, a time of growth, we can certainly say that it is The Twisted Monkey’s year! Because of your support and dedication, we continue to make changes and grow in ways that we hope will make you feel appreciated and more at home. A new studio sign, new paint, new floors, and still lots more to come (one step at a time), we hope you like it and just can’t thank you enough for supporting us…especially during the dust, class cancellations and schedule changes. Thank you. Now, let’s see all that the next month has in store….
  • Open House Info! Reminder that in celebration of all that is going on at the studio, we will open our doors to all previous, current and prospective students on Saturday, March 5th, 11am-5pm. Join us for FREE class demos, mingle with other members and instructors, enjoy snacks and beverages, find out more about the studio, and support a few local business owners. You will get to shop for homemade lip balms by Marjorie Sarah, Handcrafted Yoga Wheels by Yoganomalous, Handmade Jewelry from MysticalMoonshine, try out The RipSurfer X board from Surfset with Ashley, learn about Super Soul Seeds with Marie, and even get a mini-massage from Handled with Care. All guests will receive raffle tickets for a chance to win one of 2 Raffle Baskets full of goodies and a free Class Card! The winner will be announced during the last hour but will also be notified by email. Please note that there is only street parking available, so plan accordingly…and don’t forget to bring a friend!   • $5 Community Yoga Classes! We are happy to announce that beginning Monday, March 7th, we will be offering a $5 Community Yoga class, 7:15pm-8:15pm. Our teachers in training are getting ready to graduate and they would appreciate your support as they guide you through an all levels, beginner friendly, gentle flow….did we mention it’s only $5? Cash only please. Classes will run through the Spring.
  • Wednesday Classes! We once again need to move our Wednesday evening class….sorry! The Gentle Class will go back to its original time slot of 7pm-8pm beginning Wed, March 9th. We apologize for the confusion and promise NO more changes this year! Coming this Spring will be  Warm Yoga Wednesdays with Daniella. Stay tuned for details! Please make sure to always check our website for the most current Class Schedule. Also, please note that we have separated and updated the Hot Yoga Schedule.
  • Class Cancellation: Sunday, March 6th, our Kettle Intensity class with Kimmy at 8:30am will be cancelled because she will be out of town. Classes will resume back to normal the following week. We apologize and thank you for your understanding.
  • Non-Heated Class Card Sale! Our Class Card Sale will end on March 20th. While we have delayed the computerized registration process, beginning March 21st the 10 class card will increase to $80. You may still purchase a 5 class card for $40…while supplies last!
  • Yoga in A Bottle – Yoga with a Twist! That’s riiiiiight….we finally have our next wine and yoga night scheduled! Join our very own wine enthusiast and yogini, Daniella, on Friday, March 18th, 7:30pm -9pm, for a Gentle Yoga class, 5 Wine Tastings, light snacks, and tons of fun! Beginner-friendly. Bring a friend!   • Feel, Flow, Fly! An Intro to Acro Yoga Workshop with Kimmy & Rob!  Save the Date: Sunday, April 3rd, 1pm-3pm. Registration will be opening soon! Thank you to all who made it out to our Valentine’s Day Acro Workshop…it was great to see you all have fun and do things you thought weren’t possible. Remember – I’mPossible. 🙂

  • More Workshops! We are excited to offer some more fun workshops this Spring. Also coming in April – Surfset Workshop with Ashley on Sunday, April 17th at 1pm…Save the date! We’ll also have a Meditation Workshop with Sarah in May and lots more. Details coming soon!
  • Kids’ Yoga in April! We are happy to announce a 4 week session of Kids Yoga on Saturdays, 10am-11am, for ages 6-10. Drop your little one off for a fun morning stretch as you head downstairs to sweat it out in our Hot Yoga class….or maybe go and run some local errands. 😉 Each week the instructor will lead the class through a different themed yoga adventure. Yoga is a great way to ensure young ones maintain flexibility. It’s also been shown to improve focus and concentration, sleep, and even athletic ability. You must pre-register for this class and a parent must be present the first day to complete a liability release form. Class dates: April 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th. Cost is $45 for 4 sessions.   • Help Save Nepal! Just a reminder that we sell water bottles in exchange for at least $1 donation that goes to Nepal Kids.   • Happy November! During this time of extra gratitude, we would like to thank you for all of your support and dedication. We will continue making improvements and renovations to the studio during this holiday season. We apologize in advance for any dust or inconvenience. Thank you for your understanding. Our schedule this month will run as usual, but we will be closed on Thanksgiving Day. We have a few new classes starting this month. Don’t forget to check out our Fall Class Schedule and Workshops & Events page for all the latest. Here’s a sneak peak of what’s to come….
  • Non-Heated Yoga Class Card Sale! Purchase your 10-class cards for $70 while supplies last!  As we gear up for a new check-in process in the New Year, we will be selling class cards in November and December until we run out! These cards will not be available for purchase in 2016, though we will continue accepting them for attendance until the end of next year. Also available….5-class cards for $40. (Brand new students will still be able to purchase 5 classes for $25. Must be purchased by student him/herself on first visit.) Take final advantage of our low prices by purchasing an unlimited number of class cards. They make great holiday gifts!
  • Yoga in Bottle – Yoga with a Twist! – Final week to register! Join us this Saturday, Nov. 7th 5:30-7:30pm, for an hour of Gentle Yoga, 5 wine tastings, light snacks and lots of fun. If you haven’t checked out our most popular event yet (where have you been?) …don’t miss out! There won’t be another until Spring 2016! Please visit our Workshops & Events page for info and to sign-up. Registration closes on Friday morning.
  • Kettle Intensity! Our first Kettle Yoga session was a success! We will be bringing it back in 2016. If you’d like to try a Kettle Bell conditioning class, we now offer Kettle Intensity with Kimmy on Sundays at 8:30am. Drop-ins are $10 and yoga class cards may be used! This class is a great compliment to your yoga practice for improved strength and toning. See our Class Schedule for details.
  • Pre/Post Natal Yoga is back! Our 6 week session will run Wednesdays at 5:45pm, Nov. 11th – Dec.16th. You must pre-register by Nov. 6th to ensure a spot and receive our special discounted price…6 classes for $65! Infants not yet crawling or walking are welcomed at no charge. If you would like to attend a single class, please email us at least 24 hours in advance to see if a spot is available.   • Surfset with Ashley. We are running our final 3 week session of the year on Wednesdays at 9:30am, Nov. 18th-Dec. 2nd. Improve your balance, torch calories, build lean muscle, strengthen your core, and enhance your yoga practice, while standing on The RipSurfer X board…made famous on the hit TV show Shark Tank! Due to the limited number of boards, pre-registration is required. Cost is $40. For details and sign-ups please visit our Workshops & Events page.   • Happy Autumn! October is a time of growth and change here at The Twisted Monkey. Please check out our Fall Class Schedule and Workshops & Events page for all the latest. Here’s a sneak peak of what’s to come….
  • Yoga in the Park season is officially over. However, you can now join us for some Sunrise Yoga with Kimmy on Tuesdays at 6:30am at our studio. An early morning practice is sure to get your day started off the right way! See our Class Schedule for details.
  • New Thursday Classes! This month brings us Soulful Vinyasa with Corinne at 5:45pm, followed by Restorative Vinyasa with Stephanie at 7pm. See our Class Schedule for details.

  • Surfset Yoga & Fitness with Ashley is coming back with 2 new sessions! Join us this month either on Saturdays at 11am or Wednesdays at 9:30am (or both!) for 3 weeks of surf-inspired SUP yoga and fitness classes.   • Yoga in Bottle – Yoga with a Twist! – It’s baaaaaaaack! New day and time…Saturday, Nov. 7th 5:30-7:30pm. Cost is $25 per person and includes an hour of Gentle Yoga, 5 wine tastings, light snacks and lots of fun. If you haven’t checked out our most popular event yet (where have you been?) don’t miss out!   • Not All Breath Is Created Equal: An Introduction to Pranayama with Justine – Sunday, October 18th 1:30pm-3:30pm. Breathing is essential for us to live, but not all breath is created equal. In this workshop, we begin to bring awareness to our own breath so that we may breathe more consciously. We will explore Pranayama (yogic breathing techniques) that awaken the mind, build inner fire, cool the body, balance the spirit, and cleanse the lungs. We will discuss how we can utilize this instrument in deepening our yoga practice as well as improving all areas of our lives. Pre-registration is required. Cost is $20 per person. Yoga is about clearing away whatever is in us that prevents our living in the most full and whole way. With yoga, we become aware of how and where we are restricted — in body, mind, and heart — and how gradually to open and release these blockages. As these blockages are cleared, our energy is freed. We start to feel more harmonious, more at one with ourselves. Our lives begin to flow — or we begin to flow more in our lives.

  • Hard to believe September is here! There is lots going on at The Twisted Monkey this month. Make sure to check out our Fall Class Schedule and Workshops & Events page for all the latest. Here’s a sneak peak of what’s to come….
  • Yoga in the Park with Kimmy on Wednesdays at Rockledge Park has a new time of 6:30am beginning Sept. 2nd. Join us for an early morning practice and get your day off to a perfect start. Classes will continue in the Fall as long as weather permits. See our Workshops & Events page for more details.
  • Lunar Yoga in the Park – Sunday, September 27th at 6:30pm at Rocklege Park. (Enter at Robbins Ave and Rockledge Ave intersection.) For those of you that made it out to our Blue Moon Yoga in the Park in July, you know what a special and rare experience it is. Well, the month of September brings us a Total Lunar Eclipse! This is the second and last one for the year, and the final of a 4 total lunar eclipse series. Help us welcome this phenomenon with a magical night of yoga under the stars. The class will include 75 minutes of lunar yoga, meditation, and a traditional smudge blessing. Bring your mat, some water and an open heart. $20 per adult.
  • Kettle Yoga with Kimmy – 6 week series! Ready to take it up a notch? Join us on Wednesdays at 5:45pm from Sept. 23rd – Oct.28th for this new and unique 60 min yoga practice which incorporates Kettlebells for extra strength training and toning. We’ll start with conditioning and learn proper technique for handling Kettlebells of varying weights for an intense and invigorating practice. Her Reiki Healing Circle will be back on the 11th as well with a new time of 8pm. This class is donation-based with a suggestion of $5-$10.
