  • Happy August! Can it really be the last full moth of Summer already?! Hope you all enjoy the final few weeks before the rush of back-to-school and Fall activities begins. Please note that we will be closed on Monday, September 5th for Labor Day. Our Summer schedule is going strong and will run through most of Sept. Look out for some new classes (and old favorites) in our Fall Schedule starting the week of Sept. 18th! Most current schedule can be found online: Click Here. Here’s a sneak peek…
  • Yoga in the Park! Due to the hot Summer temps, yoga at Rockledge Park on Saturdays will be moving up to 9am beginning Aug. 6th. Classes will run through the rest of Summer and a final date will be announced in Sept. We are happy to share that we raised close to $300 in July for oneorlando.org! This month’s donations will benefit PAWS. Thank you to all who have supported us so far!
  • Full Moon Yoga! Our August Full Moon Yoga class will take place on Thursday, August 18th at 8:30pm at Rockledge Park. (If inclement weather, class will be held at the studio.) If you haven’t checked out our new Full Moon Yoga Schedule, please visit our website. Proceeds will benefit Matter of Trust.
  • Playing with Gravity! Join us on Saturday, Aug. 27th for a 2 hour workshop with Kimmy & Rob focused on Partner PLAY! Grab a friend or sign up solo to explore how gravity plays a huge part in yoga itself, and how that translates into our bodies. Come to get grounded with gravity and learn through Play!   • Class Cards! Please note that we are no longer selling the regular 5 class cards for $40. However, you may still purchase 10 classes for $80 until the end of Summer. While punch cards will no longer be sold after September, they will still be accepted until the end of the year. This Fall we will introduce new discount packages and class registration available through our website. We will still continue to accept cash payments in the studio. Thank you for your patience and support during this transition.
  • Fall Classes and 108 Yoga Malas! To kick of Autumn, join us on Thursday Sept. 22nd (the Fall Equinox!) at 7:15pm, as we once again attempt (and succeed!) to get through 108 sun salutations. After our successful Summer Solstice 108 sun salutation celebration in June, we are now happy to offer these Yoga Malas every season! More information can be found on our 108 Yoga Mala page. This event will also kick off our new Fall Schedule which will include: Surfset, Kettle Yoga, Warm Yoga, Lunch Hour Yoga, Pre/Postnatal Yoga, Kids’ Yoga, Tween Yoga, Meditation Flow, and lots more! See our schedule for more information: Click Here.
  • Save the date! Registration for The Twisted Monkey’s inaugural Yoga Retreat is now open. Spots are limited and going fast! For those who would like more information, we will be offering a Retreat Information meeting on Monday, Aug. 29th at 8:30pm. We will discuss the itinerary for the 3 day weekend and answer any questions you may have. Those already registered are encouraged to attend too. The meeting should take no more than 30 min.   • Lost and Found! If you have left behind a water bottle, yoga mat or other personal item, please make sure to check the yoga studio. Items not claimed by the end of each month will be recycled. The lost and found is located in the hot yoga ladies’ changing room or see an instructor. Thank you.

  • Yoga in the Park! Join us at Rockledge Park on Saturdays at 10am all Summer long. This is a donation-based class with a $5-$10 suggested minimum cash drop-in. (Class Cards may not be used.) Street parking and entrance are on Rockledge Ave. (corner of Robbins Ave.) Stop at the gazebo to check-in. Please bring your own yoga mat and water. All Levels welcomed. This month’s donations will benefit oneorlando.org. Thank you to all who have joined us so far!

  • Seasonal Sun Salutes! Thank you to all who came out to our Summer Solstice, Full Moon, and International Yoga Day Celebration. It was a magical night. Congrats to all those who completed the full 108 Sun Salutations and a big THANK YOU to all those who donated to oneorlando.org. We raised almost $150! Stay tuned for the Fall Equinox as we hope to host an 108 Sun Salutation Yoga Mala for every season. Details coming soon.
  • Full Moon Yoga! We will also be hosting special Full Moon Yoga evening classes once a month. The next Full Moon is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, July 19th. Stay tuned for details on our website.
  • SAVE THE DATE! Registration for The Twisted Monkey’s inaugural Yoga Retreat opens up soon. Join us this Fall on November 18th -20th for a 3 day weekend at the Himalayan Institute, located just 2 and 1/2 hours away. Details coming soon!

  • Happy November! During this time of extra gratitude, we would like to thank you for all of your support and dedication. We will continue making improvements and renovations to the studio during this holiday season. We apologize in advance for any dust or inconvenience. Thank you for your understanding. Our schedule this month will run as usual, but we will be closed on Thanksgiving Day. We have a few new classes starting this month. Don’t forget to check out our Fall Class Schedule and Workshops & Events page for all the latest. Here’s a sneak peak of what’s to come….
  • Non-Heated Yoga Class Card Sale! Purchase your 10-class cards for $70 while supplies last!  As we gear up for a new check-in process in the New Year, we will be selling class cards in November and December until we run out! These cards will not be available for purchase in 2016, though we will continue accepting them for attendance until the end of next year. Also available….5-class cards for $40. (Brand new students will still be able to purchase 5 classes for $25. Must be purchased by student him/herself on first visit.) Take final advantage of our low prices by purchasing an unlimited number of class cards. They make great holiday gifts!
  • Yoga in Bottle – Yoga with a Twist! – Final week to register! Join us this Saturday, Nov. 7th 5:30-7:30pm, for an hour of Gentle Yoga, 5 wine tastings, light snacks and lots of fun. If you haven’t checked out our most popular event yet (where have you been?) …don’t miss out! There won’t be another until Spring 2016! Please visit our Workshops & Events page for info and to sign-up. Registration closes on Friday morning.
  • Kettle Intensity! Our first Kettle Yoga session was a success! We will be bringing it back in 2016. If you’d like to try a Kettle Bell conditioning class, we now offer Kettle Intensity with Kimmy on Sundays at 8:30am. Drop-ins are $10 and yoga class cards may be used! This class is a great compliment to your yoga practice for improved strength and toning. See our Class Schedule for details.
  • Pre/Post Natal Yoga is back! Our 6 week session will run Wednesdays at 5:45pm, Nov. 11th – Dec.16th. You must pre-register by Nov. 6th to ensure a spot and receive our special discounted price…6 classes for $65! Infants not yet crawling or walking are welcomed at no charge. If you would like to attend a single class, please email us at least 24 hours in advance to see if a spot is available.   • Surfset with Ashley. We are running our final 3 week session of the year on Wednesdays at 9:30am, Nov. 18th-Dec. 2nd. Improve your balance, torch calories, build lean muscle, strengthen your core, and enhance your yoga practice, while standing on The RipSurfer X board…made famous on the hit TV show Shark Tank! Due to the limited number of boards, pre-registration is required. Cost is $40. For details and sign-ups please visit our Workshops & Events page. If you’d like to sample a class as a drop-in, please email us at least 24 hours in advance to see if a spot is available. Drop-in rate is $15.

  • Happy Autumn! October is a time of growth and change here at The Twisted Monkey. Please check out our Fall Class Schedule and Workshops & Events page for all the latest. Here’s a sneak peak of what’s to come….
  • Yoga in the Park season is officially over. However, you can now join us for some Sunrise Yoga with Kimmy on Tuesdays at 6:30am at our studio. An early morning practice is sure to get your day started off the right way! See our Class Schedule for details.
  • New Thursday Classes! This month brings us Soulful Vinyasa with Corinne at 5:45pm, followed by Restorative Vinyasa with Stephanie at 7pm. See our Class Schedule for details.
  • Friday Classes – Don’t forget that you can now join us on Friday evenings for a variety of classes! Unwind after a long week and start your weekend off the right way…Pilates and Hot Happy Hour at 5:45pm, followed by Tai Chi and Reiki. See our Class Schedule for details.
  • Surfset Yoga & Fitness with Ashley is coming back with 2 new sessions!   • Not All Breath Is Created Equal: An Introduction to Pranayama with Justine – Sunday, October 18th 1:30pm-3:30pm. Breathing is essential for us to live, but not all breath is created equal. In this workshop, we begin to bring awareness to our own breath so that we may breathe more consciously. We will explore Pranayama (yogic breathing techniques) that awaken the mind, build inner fire, cool the body, balance the spirit, and cleanse the lungs. We will discuss how we can utilize this instrument in deepening our yoga practice as well as improving all areas of our lives. Pre-registration is required. Cost is $20 per person.   • 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training. We are now accepting applications for our next training session. Sign up before Nov. 1st and receive a $200 early bird discount! Training begins Dec. 6th. Yoga is about clearing away whatever is in us that prevents our living in the most full and whole way. With yoga, we become aware of how and where we are restricted — in body, mind, and heart — and how gradually to open and release these blockages. As these blockages are cleared, our energy is freed. We start to feel more harmonious, more at one with ourselves. Our lives begin to flow — or we begin to flow more in our lives.

  • Hard to believe September is here! There is lots going on at The Twisted Monkey this month. Make sure to check out our Fall Class Schedule and Workshops & Events page for all the latest. Here’s a sneak peak of what’s to come….
  • Yoga in the Park with Kimmy on Wednesdays at Rockledge Park has a new time of 6:30am beginning Sept. 2nd. Join us for an early morning practice and get your day off to a perfect start. Classes will continue in the Fall as long as weather permits. See our Workshops & Events page for more details.
  • Lunar Yoga in the Park – Sunday, September 27th at 6:30pm at Rocklege Park. (Enter at Robbins Ave and Rockledge Ave intersection.) For those of you that made it out to our Blue Moon Yoga in the Park in July, you know what a special and rare experience it is. Well, the month of September brings us a Total Lunar Eclipse! This is the second and last one for the year, and the final of a 4 total lunar eclipse series. Help us welcome this phenomenon with a magical night of yoga under the stars. The class will include 75 minutes of lunar yoga, meditation, and a traditional smudge blessing. Bring your mat, some water and an open heart. $20 per adult.
  • Kettle Yoga with Kimmy – 6 week series! Ready to take it up a notch? Join us on Wednesdays at 5:45pm from Sept. 23rd – Oct.28th for this new and unique 60 min yoga practice which incorporates Kettlebells for extra strength training and toning. We’ll start with conditioning and learn proper technique for handling Kettlebells of varying weights for an intense and invigorating practice.   • It’s the last full of month of Summer! Just a reminder that our schedule will be changing after Labor Day. See our website for class changes and cancellations.
  • Thank you to all who came out to our first Blue Moon Yoga night. The night was more successful than we could have imagined! Proceeds of the night will go toward a memorial fund in honor of the instructor’s brother who recently passed away. Thank you again for your support and look out for more evenings in the park in the future!
  • Yoga in the Park with Kimmy – Wednesdays at 7am, starting August 5th at Rockledge Park (Enter at Robbins Ave and Rockledge Ave intersection). Come get an early morning workout in at the park and a sneak peak at the newest class coming to The Twisted Monkey this Fall! Kettle Yoga incorporates Kettle Bells into our yoga practice, creating a fusion that will help you develop extra strength and toning. The class will be 75 minutes long and will run every Wednesday until and when weather permits. This is a BYOB (Bring your own Bell…or weights) class. If you do not own either, you are still welcomed to come check it out and enjoy a yoga practice. This is a donation-based class, meaning pay what you can with a suggestion of $10 and a minimum of $5. Your contributions will help purchase new Kettle Bells for our studio so we can bring you indoor Kettle Yoga this Fall/Winter!
  • Surfset Yoga & Fitness with Ashley –This Fall we will be offering 3 week sessions of surf-inspired, SUP yoga and fitness classes. Improve your balance, strengthen your core and your practice, build lean muscle and burn up to 900 calories in one hour!  Due to the limited number of boards, pre-registration is required. If you are interested in getting certified as a Surfset Fitness Trainer, we will be hosting a training workshop at The Twisted Monkey on Sunday, August 30th, 11am-7pm. May-NewsletterHappy May! In honor of all the wonderful mothers and women in our lives, we are offering several mom-inspired events this month….

  • The Twisted Monkey is now open on Fridays at 5:30pm! Join us for $5 Happy Hour Hatha Yoga beginning May 1st and through June. This is a 9 week mixed levels community non-heated yoga class. Not only will you be ending your week right and squeezing in another hour of practice before the weekend, but you will be supporting our new group of instructors in training. And did we mention, classes are only $5??? All ages and levels welcomed. If you prefer to sweat it out, we are now also offering Hot Happy Hour yoga at the same time. This is a high energy, challenging 1 hour class. Cost is $10 and class cards accepted.
  • Our new Pilates 6 week session with Rose begins on Sunday, May 3rd. Classes will now start at 8:45am and will be 1 hour long. Cost is $10 for drop-ins. Purchase a 6 class card on the first day for $50 and get one class free! We now accept yoga class cards for those who want to give this core-strengthening workout a try! Follow it up with our Intro to Yoga class at 10am….perfect compliment to Pilates.

  • Saturday, May 9th, join us for a special 2 hour class of (warm) YinYasa with Justine at 1pm. This special workshop is designed for cyclists, runners, and other active individuals who are looking to compliment their workouts with specialized stretches and poses through a fusion of Yin Yoga and Vinyasa Flow.   • Mother’s Day Yoga! – bring your mom for free! Give your mom the (FREE!) gift of yoga! Join us on Mother’s Day for a special 2 for 1 (non-heated) Mother’s Day Yoga class at 10am. Start this special day off right by celebrating mom and all the special women in our lives with some gentle, beginner’s style yoga. (Mom not required to attend. Regular $10 fee applies.)

  • Mommy-to-Be/Mommy-N-Me is back! Beginning May 20th, join us every Wednesday at 11am for 6 weeks of Prenatal and Postnatal Yoga with Jessica. We welcome little yogis ages 0-3 years, whether they just want to play and explore or join in on some yoga. (Mamas are responsible for their little ones.) This is a special 6 week series.
